Celeste S. Sanchez, our Music Therapist was invited in Taipei, Taiwan as a guest speaker in the "2014 Music Therapy Conference in Asia" last November 8 and 9 2014.

Her talk was entitled " The Role of Music Therapy in Wellness and Preventive Health Care."  


She also submitted an essay on "Development and Application of Music Therapy in Brain Development and Mental Health."




The conference theme was "Eastern and Western Music Therapy and Pythagoras, the Lambdoma Music Therapy." It was held in Christian Youth Activity Center, Cyun ying Hall.

Music therapy is a new hope in medicine and has become one of the most important spiritual therapies. According to the philosophy of Zen, Mind is the key to everything. All things come from our minds. Not only can music heal our minds but also our spirits.

MUSIC THERAPY GOES TO INDONESIA

Counseling care Nusantara (Pelikan) and Counseling Program recently sponsored the seminar, Jaffray Care Net Counseling XVI 18-19 on May 2012 at Hotel Ciputra, Jarkarta. The focus is on issues that revolve around the theme of "Harmonization of Family Education System with the School and the Church".


Music Therapy Seminar Workshop Guest Speakers and Organizers 
Music Therapy was one of the sessions featured in the seminar. Speakers were Mrs. Celeste Sanchez, Music Therapist from the Philippines. She was assisted by her daughters, Maricar Sanchez-Magallanes, Music Therapist and Mariciel Sanchez-Nuyda, EdD. In attendance were Guidance Counselors, parents and teachers. The objective of the seminar was to raise the awareness of the participants on the benefits of Music Therapy.

The morning session focused on Music Therapy concepts while the afternoon session was a Music Therapy workshop. The participants were made to experience different Music Therapy activities that could enhance the physical, psycho-social, emotional, psychological, intellectual and spiritual dimensions of the child.

The highlight of the activity was an impromptu presentation by three children with special needs. The seminar participants were delighted by the obvious joy and pride that the children have shown as they played the piano.



The seminar closed with the community singing the song, Give Thanks.
